CEIST is a company limited by guarantee with Charity Status. It was established in 2007 by: the Sisters of Mercy, the Presentation Sisters, the Sisters of the Christian Retreat, the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and the Daughters of Charity. The five congregations transferred to the company the trusteeship of their 107 voluntary secondary schools in the Republic of Ireland. CEIST seeks to provide for and promote Post Primary Education in the Catholic tradition.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Effective from July 2019
Applicants should have an established track record of delivery at senior leadership level within the Irish Post Primary Sector. He/she will be a person of faith with a proven commitment to the provision and development of Catholic Education. Interpersonal and strategic development skills are a prerequisite, so that CEIST can play its part in the future direction of Irish Education. The CEO will be accountable to the Board of Directors in ensuring the exercise of all of its trustee functions. A job description and relevant documentation will be made available to applicants.
