The Organisation

Pobal is a national organisation that provides management and support services to 23 government programmes in the areas of Social Inclusion and Equality, Inclusive Employment and Enterprise, and Early Years  and Young  People. Pobal administers these programmes  on behalf of the Department of Rural and Community Development, Department of Children and Youth Affairs, Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection, as well as the Department of Health/HSE and a number of EU bodies. Pobal allocated circa €700 million to local and national community-based organisations in 2018.

The work of Pobal includes inputting on the design of new programmes, financial administration and governance of funding allocations, supporting quality development among service providers, development of programme and system management tools and ensuring compliance with government and legal requirements. Pobal is accountable to a Board appointed by Government.

The Role

Pobal seeks suitable applicants for the position of Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”). The CEO serves as the principal resource to the Board of Directors and its key committees and gives strong direction in policy formulation and interpretation. The CEO is also accountable for building and leading a high-performing management team and ensuring all teams are aligned and collaborating to achieve organisational results and advance social inclusion.

The Person

Pobal seeks applications from high-calibre dynamic individuals with proven senior management experience and strong knowledge, experience and understanding of social inclusion.
