Sonas is the largest provider of frontline services to women and children suffering domestic abuse in the greater Dublin region. For 26 years Sonas has helped women and children experiencing domestic abuse by providing needs-led and targeted-quality services. The organisation is supported in its mission by its main funder Tusla, the Child and Family Agency. Sonas advocates on issues that impact the safety, welfare and wellbeing of women and children experiencing domestic abuse. Client-centeredness, informed decision-making and collaboration are the core principles that underpin its work.

Sonas works with over 1,200 women and children every year. The services provided by Sonas are designed to be responsive to the diverse needs of the clients they support. As needs may change quickly depending on circumstances, Sonas offers a range of services, including:

  • Sonas Refuge                         
  • Accommodation based supports (Such as Supported Housing and Safe Homes)
  • Community based Outreach and Visiting Support Services
  • Children and Young People Support team
  • Awareness and Prevention programmes
  • Court Accompaniment

To continue the success and growth of its service offering, Sonas is seeking to appoint a Head of Services.

Head of Services

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Services will provide leadership, strategy and direction to its frontline team as well ensuring the successful management of the individual needs of Sonas’ clients. The post-holder will be a key member of the Senior Management team working to achieve Sonas’ overall strategy and continually lead a quantum of services in a number of locations, adhering to organisational guidelines and legislative requirements.

Candidates should have a proven track record in the development and delivery of services and interventions. The preferred applicant will be a skilled communicator; have strong relationship management skills, including previous engagement with key statutory and non-statutory stakeholders and experience of working in range of relevant support service settings.
