GENERAL MANAGER – FINANCIAL SERVICES
SSAB is one of the world’s leading producers and manufacturers of steel and related specialised steel products. It employs more than 15,000 people across 50 countries worldwide. Its Dublin office, SSAB Finance Ireland DAC, was established in 2016 and is responsible for the administration of the Group Treasury function for SSAB AB worldwide. It manages all internal lending within the SSAB Group.
We have been retained to assist in the recruitment of a General Manager for the Irish operation. Reporting to the Vice President, Head of Group Treasury, the General Manager will have full responsibility for the day to day running of the Dublin office and it’s reporting back to the parent company. You will lead a small team and will manage all third party relationships i.e. auditors, advisors, banks, property etc. You will ensure the successful financial and operational management of the Irish company, focusing on strong financial control, reporting and information, and will work closely as part of the Group Treasury team. You will work with the Group team on intercompany lending decisions and will sign off on all loan agreements. You will also work with the Group team to ensure the Irish operation’s positive liquidity at all times.
Candidates should have a third level degree and preferably a professional accounting qualification. You should have senior management experience in financial services.
A background in Treasury Management would be ideal but is not essential. You must be a skilled and proven communicator with strong presentation and influencing skills. Candidates will also have to fulfil SSAB Manager Criteria i.e. possess self-awareness, serve as a role model, give employees an opportunity to develop, generate energy, drive improvement and achieve results.
