Threshold is the leading not-for-profit charitable organisation in Ireland providing support and advocacy services nationwide to people experiencing housing problems. Threshold was founded in 1978 to secure the vital right to housing, particularly for households experiencing the problems of poverty or exclusion. Today, Threshold provides frontline advice and support services to 73,500 calls per year through its 46 employees from its offices in Dublin, Cork and Galway.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Galway Services Regional Manager is the senior management post with dedicated responsibility for the management, development and administration of Threshold’s exceptional frontline advice and support services for the entire West of Ireland region.
The Galway Services Regional Manager will work as part of a national Senior Management Team and will have operational, financial and strategic responsibility for Threshold’s Galway Office. Coverage will include but not necessarily be limited to: staff management, development, recruitment and retention; ensuring quality client service provision; financial and budget management; compliance, regulation and governance; as well as positive internal and external stakeholder relationship management and development. The Galway Services Regional Manager will also contribute to raising the profile of Threshold in local media and support the development of housing policy and fundraising applications in conjunction with colleagues.
It is expected that applicants will have experience in a not-for-profit, public, semi-state or applicable housing environment in a relevant management role with responsibility for service provision, staff and operational budgets. Applicants will have a ‘hands on’ approach together with excellent communication, results orientation and representation skills. A commitment to the mission and core values of Threshold and to the rights of individuals with housing needs is essential. Applicants will also have a third level qualification in social science, law, business, housing or a similar discipline.
