The Board of the Heritage Council invites applications for the role of Chief Executive (“CE”) to lead the organisation into the next stage of its development and build upon its achievements since 1995. The CE, reporting through the Chairperson, has overall responsibility for advising the Board of the Heritage Council and will ensure the effective achievement of the Heritage Council’s objectives in the exercise of its functions under the Heritage Act, 1995 and other statutory requirements. The successful candidate will have a high public profile in advocating for our heritage among communities and formulating policies at national and international level while ensuring good governance and best practice in the execution of all Heritage Council functions.
The Heritage Council seeks applications from high-calibre individuals who have proven senior management experience and demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the broad heritage sector (or demonstrate ability to quickly acquire same). Ideal candidates will be experienced senior managers, with high levels of vision, motivation and resilience, with a proven ability to deliver objectives and strategic goals.
