Head of Market Access - Ireland - Pharmaceuticals – Dublin based – June 2018 - Urgent

Our client a major pharmaceutical company based in Dublin wish to appoint a Head of Market Access - Ireland to join their team. They are looking to recruit a high calibre Market Access pharmaceutical professional to this senior position.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Managing Director - this role will have full accountability for the design and delivery of national and local market access strategy and tactics across all company medicines achieving maximum access for patients in Ireland.

Responsibilities:

NATIONAL ACCESS

  • Working effectively in collaboration with the Health Economics team to ensure the most effective strategy and solutions for national market access for company products in the Health Services Executive

  • Manage all aspects of the Irish pricing & reimbursement process - Horizon scanning, support dossier development (patient journey, market analytics, local cost data), engagement with NCPE, NCCP, CPU & Drugs group.

  • Provide leadership & strategic direction to the companies Ireland team to ensure our client’s products obtain & maintain optimal pricing & reimbursement status.

  • Ensure alignment of local value & access strategies with international access and product leads

    LOCAL ACCESS:

  • Support the HSE decision makers with regards to the appropriate use of company medicines based on an understanding of the value they bring to patients and the local health economy.

  • Work with local and national HSE customers to develop innovative solutions to customer challenges that meet their local needs and deliver tangible benefits to our client for example pathway/service redesign

  • Develop Value Based Healthcare Solutions that meet customers' needs and deliver tangible & measurable outcomes for all stakeholders

  • Manage pricing & contracting needs for mature brands

  • Translate health economic data into local payer tools e.g. budget impact models to support business

    ACCESS STAKEHOLDER LIAISON:

  • Creation and maintenance - in collaboration with other market access colleagues, positive and productive relationships with relevant ACCESS stakeholders including HSE, NCCP, DOH and National Clinical Directors.

    POLICY:

  • Build understanding and knowledge on HSE policy in Ireland Affiliate. Specifically, on what new policy means for our client’s medicines and how they can align their activities to create compelling win-win strategies.

  • Support the shaping of the external environment in relation to HSE policy through engagement with IPHA and senior stakeholders, in collaboration with the key internal stakeholders

    Basic qualifications:

  • Degree level education

  • Proven track record of success in a number of roles within the industry e.g. Health Economics, Local Access, Marketing.

  • Good understanding of the Irish Pricing & Reimbursement system

  • Flexibility to work across therapy areas with different strategic priorities

  • Excellent project management skills - planning & prioritisation

  • Strong numerical, quantitative & problem-solving ability

  • Knowledge of changing IE healthcare landscape and impact on medicine access

  • Excellent cross functional working

  • Excellent communication (oral & written) & negotiation skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in a similar position
