Drinkaware is an independent, not-for-profit organisation with a vision of an Ireland where alcohol is not misused. Drinkaware’s mission is to work with others to change attitudes and behaviours so that drinking to excess and drinking underage become unacceptable. This ambitious organisation works to raise awareness, create understanding and support behaviour change through evidence-led education and effective communications to support its work in three core areas: tackling underage drinking, reducing alcohol misuse and supporting alcohol education.

The public consistently identifies Drinkaware as the most trusted source of alcohol information in Ireland through market research, with more than 2.6 million adults aware of what the organisation’s work. Maintaining Drinkaware’s market leading position and building on its positive reputation is vital, as Ireland’s relationship with alcohol remains a critical public health challenge. To ensure effective delivery of its vision and mission and to drive development and delivery of its new strategy 2019-2022, Drinkaware is seeking to appoint a new CEO.

CEO

Drinkaware is seeking an exceptional leader with a strategic mind-set, a strong management skillset and experience working in a multifaceted role alongside Boards or committees.  The incoming CEO will have a strong understanding of research, public policy communication and fundraising. They will play a critical role in ensuring that the organisation achieves its vision of an Ireland where alcohol is not misused.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will provide leadership and direction and co-ordinate all activities for Drinkaware in accordance with achieving its vision, mission and strategy. The CEO will carry out Drinkaware’s business efficiently and effectively, will safeguard its assets and reputation and seek to achieve the key performance indicators set out in its strategic and operational plans. He or she shall manage a small, dynamic and motivated team and shall represent Drinkaware publicly and privately in a professional manner.

If you feel that you fit the profile of an exceptional leader, a catalyst for change and would like to explore this role at a pivotal time for Drinkaware, please contact Dennis O’Connor in strictest confidence (click APPLY) or call direct on +353-1-234-3184.

The closing date for applications is the 6th of July.
