The Daughters of Charity Disability Support Services was established in Dublin over 100 years ago. Our mission is to develop the potential of each individual person within the Service enabling them to have as an independent and satisfying life as possible.
Day and residential services are provided to over 2,200 service users across nine centres in Dublin, Limerick and North Tipperary. The Service has undergone significant restructuring in recent years and this will continue in the coming years to meet changing policy direction. The opportunity has arisen due to the retirement of the current Chief Executive.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer is based in Dublin and is responsible for the overall direction, management and administration of the Service, ensuring that the rights, needs comfort and safety of service users are our priority.
The Chief Executive Officer leads an Executive Management Team and Service Managers. There are over 2,200 staff members and volunteers in total and a budget allocation of approximately €120 million. Key relationships are with the service users and their families, the Board, Health Service Executive at National and Regional levels and other organisations representing the interests of service users and their families.
It is expected that applicants will have significant experience at Senior Management level with responsibility for service provision, staff and operational budgets of comparable complexity. Excellent interpersonal skills, energy, enthusiasm, a sense of vision, ability to implement organisational change, the generation of alternative ideas and a capacity and natural affinity to managing sensitive situations as they arise are key requirements of the role.
