Dean

Our client, the Institute of Banking, is the largest professional membership organisation in Ireland. It is a community of over 34,000 members who work in banking and financial services across the island of Ireland and internationally. The Institute is a Recognised College of University College Dublin (UCD) and the education and professional development of members is at the heart of the Institute’s activities. The Institute offers more than 40 education programmes ranging from Professional Certificates to Masters Degrees and more than 10,500 members are currently studying on its programmes. As an advocate of lifelong learning and in the broader public interest, the Institute has the largest continuing professional development (CPD) community in Ireland with more than 25,000 members.

The Institute is now seeking to appoint a Dean. Reporting to the CEO, the Dean is responsible for: the development and implementation of the Institute’s academic strategy; the quality, relevance and enhancement of the Institute’s portfolio of education programmes; and, the standards in teaching, learning and assessment. The Dean will oversee the management of all full-time and part-time programmes, and will maintain and develop the Institute’s academic relationship with the College of Business and wider academic community of UCD.

This is an opportunity for you to provide overall academic leadership for the Institute and in that capacity, lead the internal academic team and the broader external associate faculty. Working with the CEO and senior colleagues you will plan and budget for the development and delivery of programmes for current and future academic years.

You will have a track record of academic excellence, an exceptional reputation as a leader, and demonstrable credibility within the Banking and Financial Services sectors. You will be solution oriented, innovative, and highly collaborative, with excellent communication skills and an ability to understand the learning requirements and challenges facing the Institute’s members in the future.

A competitive remuneration package will be offered. Applicants should submit a Curriculum Vitae along with a cover letter by email, outlining how they meet the required criteria to iob@odgersberndtson.com (click APPLY)

Closing date for receipt of applications is Monday 28th May, 2018.

Candidates for this role will be sourced through both advertising and search processes. Please note that interviews will take place during June and July.
