Personal Professor of Simulation Education in Healthcare/Director of Healthcare Simulation Education Saolta University Healthcare Group.
The post-holder will report to the Dean, through the Head of School, and the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) and will have overall responsibility for strategising and leading on the development of SBE in the undergraduate medical programme and in the Saolta Group.
The post-holder will in association with the Head of the School of Medicine, the Dean of the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, the CAO and the Saolta Group Management Team develop a world-class simulation programme. A key element of the role will be to develop a framework that will optimise the resourcing available to support the development of simulation including the staff complement and finances.
The successful candidate will have a medical degree and Masters or equivalent as well as a qualification in Healthcare Simulation and Medical Education and membership of relevant professional or regulatory bodies. The post-holder will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience of leadership in the design, development and delivery of SBE in undergraduate, postgraduate and interdisciplinary settings. The post-holder should have experience in all facets of SBE and an understanding of psychological safety when using SBE. They should be able to demonstrate an effect of SBE on performance and outcomes in clinical practice
