Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association
Founded in 1985, the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) supports people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), their families and carers by providing services and supports throughout Ireland including home visits by specialist MND nurses and the supply of specialised equipment on loan. The IMNDA also represents and advocates for people living with MND, their families and carers at a national level. The IMNDA’s mission is to support people with MND, their families and carers through advocacy, home and professional support and its vision is a world free of MND.
In 2016 the IMNDA had a total income of €1.75m, with approximately 84% of this income derived through fundraising. At present, the majority of fundraised income is raised through community fundraising. The organisation is seeking to diversify and increase its fundraising mix which will be a key objective of the incoming Chief Executive’s (CE) role. To lead the IMNDA into its next phase of growth, develop its fundraising function and implement the organisation’s strategic plan, the IMNDA is seeking to appoint a Chief Executive.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive will be responsible for the strategic development of the IMNDA and for ensuring that the organisation reaches its full potential. The Chief Executive will provide leadership in the organisation and serve as its ambassador and strategic influencer externally by building relationships with stakeholders in politics, the media and business. The Chief Executive will also lead and manage the organisation into a period of change and will ensure that the organisation’s goals and objectives are achieved.
The IMNDA is seeking an energetic and dynamic leader with a strong management skillset, a strategic mindset and experience working in a multifaceted role alongside boards or committees. The incoming Chief Executive will have a strong understanding of fundraising, governance, motivating staff, asset management and risk appraisal. The post-holder will be comfortable with achieving performance related targets in all areas of the organisation and will ensure that the IMNDA remains viable and reaches its full potential. The Chief Executive will work closely with the Board of Directors in outlining the organisation’s future strategy and for successfully delivering its implementation. Applications from leaders in the not-for-profit, private or public sector are welcome.
If you are a determined leader looking to make a contribution to the lives of people living with MND, their families and carers then contact Dennis O’Connor in strictest confidence, call direct on +353-1-234-3184 or click APPLY.
