Applications are invited for the position of Director of Risk and Internal Audit, 10 year post in the President's Office.
NUI Galway has grown substantively in size and reputation over the past 170 years and has been transformed in the past decade. By many measures – citations, research income, student recruitment, and capital investment – our growth has been remarkable.
We continue to face the future with ambition. In particular, we aim to further enhance our international reputation and reach, contributing through our research and teaching in the world and for the world: our students compete with the best and so must we. To this end, we have outlined key priorities for Research and Innovation, for Teaching and Learning, for greater Internationalisation, and through commitments to the many communities we serve, in the world and for the world.
The University now wishes to appoint a Director of Risk and Internal Audit who will play a pivotal role in helping the University identify and mitigate risk. Reporting to the University President, the Director of Risk and Internal Audit will primarily be responsible for the management of the internal audit function. The Director will be a critical component of the collective team of professionals responsible for identifying, assessing, and strategizing the mitigation of risk at NUI Galway and will work closely and collaborate with Support Service Areas, University Senior Management Team, College Deans and their management teams, and with other university units and colleagues in all support service areas of the University. The Director will have a reporting relationship to the Údarás na hOllscoile through the Finance Resource Committee and Audit Committee. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior Risk & Internal Audit professional.
