The Marketing Director Europe owns the creation and execution of the overall marketing strategy in the EU for several of j2’s Cloud Communication product lines.

Reporting to the Managing Director Europe, this is an exciting role for a dynamic marketing leader who will become a key member of the European management team. This position will own and drive the marketing initiatives in region.

Job Summary:

The Marketing Director - Europe owns the creation and execution of the overall marketing strategy in the EU for several of j2’s product lines.

Reporting to the Managing Director Europe, this is an exciting role for a dynamic marketing leader who will become a key member of the European management team. This position will own and drive the marketing initiatives in region.

You will be responsible for leading an energetic multi-location marketing team that will collaborate cross-functionally with other teams in region and globally to get the job done. Owning your results, you will thrive in rolling up your sleeves and leading by example, intuitively taking a creative approach to getting the most from resources at your disposal.

Job Duties:

The position is focused on j2 Global’s Cloud Communication Services in the region. Responsibilities encompass:   

  • Drive development of business strategy and expansion across the territory.
  • Lead advertising/media strategy and execution (SEM, display advertising, affiliate, SEO, partners, resellers, channel development, social). Oversee budgets, media planning, execution and analysis.
  • Manage agency relationships and internal marketing team. 
  • Lead development and management of websites and ecommerce activities
  • Partner closely with the Managing Director in assessment, acquisition and integration of M&A opportunities.
  • Lead cross functional teams in development and implementation of overall business plans.
  • Champion brand positioning and messaging strategies and lead the creative development and selection process.
  • Drive data analytics to guide business decisions, evaluate strategies and identify new opportunities.
  • Identify new growth opportunities and support the company’s expansion into additional markets.
  • Actively foster an environment of experimentation, innovation, collaboration, and personal growth within the organization. 
  • Manage and coach a team of direct reports.  Lead teams of peers and cross-functional partners.  Be viewed as the business expert with accountability for accomplishment of overall objectives.
  • Work closely with headquarters and other international offices in development and execution of plans to achieve key business objectives. 

Job Requirements and Experience:

Candidates must be experienced leaders with a proven track record of success. Interested candidates should possess:

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, brand management and/or product marketing/management.
  • 5+ years in roles incorporating P&L accountability
  • 5+ years as a head of a business line/unit with responsibility for leading cross-functional teams
  • Minimum of 5+ years working on a successful ecommerce business. Including experience in interactive advertising and SEM is required. Experience can be from either client or agency side.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit with a track record of success in championing innovation and achieving campaign/project objectives. 
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a dynamic leadership style.  Demonstrated success in leading multiple functional areas and external agencies/consultants. Candidates must have experience managing agency relationships and performance.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong analytical experience.  Demonstrated experience in driving business decisions with analytics.
  • High degree of flexibility to accommodate rapidly growing and evolving global business.
  • Strong organizational, time management, communication, and presentation skills.
