We are looking for an EMEAI Distribution Manager who will set up and manage all distribution activities in the market and with third party distributors in collaboration with the regional/global Logistics teams and local resources in each of the markets in scope. The markets in scope would have either significant business impact (at least 500 Mio$ sales) or significant complexity to manage (at least 3 markets in scope with 3 or more 3PL to manage)

Key responsibilities

  • Manage internal SLAs, provide guidelines for goods flow
  • Oversee 3PL operations, including product destructions & service exceptions
  • Manage 3PL contracts, ops manuals, SOPs, GDP compliance, and business reviews
  • Product introductions and inventory control
  • Budgeting, reporting, audits as per BMS requirements and business process
  • Be the reference contact for Logistics operational issues/opportunities in the markets in scope
  • Liaises with In-market Logistics Solutions and Regional Logistics role for a robust implementation of GLS directives and models in the market operations
  • Ensure the 3PL are managed to the appropriate EHS, GDP and cGMP standards in alignment with their scope of activities
  • Ensure that Business Continuity Management (BCM) is maintained and executed accordingly in the appropriate events
  • Representative for market in BMS, SC, and local forums
  • Responsible for managing distribution analysts and rotationally representing regional distribution manager as a team lead (interim)

Professional experience and qualifications

  • Language (English + 1 or 2 European Languages) and travel flexibility
  • Logistics expertise and experience: required for executional management of 3PLs
  • Must have 5 years experience managing partners in a regulated environment
  • Management skills required: primary point of contact for 3rd party operations and contracts
  • Communication skills: proficient presenting to GM level both internal BMS and to partners
  • Negotiation skills: is able to negotiate autonomously a number of contract aspects
  • Knowledge of the Guidelines on GDP of medicinal products for human use
  • Knowledge of the EU Directives on the wholesale distribution of medicinal products for Human use
  • Preferable to have experience and skills in leading, managing and development of teams
