Senior Lecturer in Bacteriology
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a fixed term appointment as part-time (0.25) Senior Lecturer in Bacteriology. The purpose of this post is to support the Head of the Discipline of Bacteriology in the delivery of microbiology teaching to undergraduate medical students, course organisation and assessment of students’ competence. The successful candidate will hold a degree in Medicine, FRCPath (or equivalent), be registered with the Irish Medical Council as a Microbiologist and have experience of teaching and supervising undergraduate medical students, and have at least 5 years clinical experience in clinical microbiology. Working as part of a team, the successful candidate will be required to take responsibility for teaching and the overall administration of the Health and Disease 1 Module and contribute to teaching and administration of other modules delivered to healthcare students.
The successful candidate will be a registered medical practitioner who has completed his/her general professional training. This position is available from June 1st 2018 and will terminate on May 31st 2019.
