Carbery Group is a global leader in food ingredients, flavours and cheese. Founded in 1965 as a joint venture between Express Dairies and four West Cork Co-operative Societies: Bandon, Barryroe, Drinagh and Lisavard, it has
grown from strength to strength. From 1992, Carbery Group has been solely owned by the four Co-ops and has a turnover of circa €600 million, employs more than 600 people and has operations across the globe.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive will provide leadership, vision, motivation and strategic direction to the Group and will have responsibility for the overall management of the business. Focusing on the needs of what is essentially a membership organisation, this will involve the establishment and achievement of stretching targets in the area of people management, sales, finance, operations, membership services and customer satisfaction. He/she will be expected to deliver and implement a business strategy that is consistent with membership needs: a strong bottom line coupled with long-term sustainable and viable asset value growth.
This is a key appointment and candidates will have had senior leadership experience in a similar dairy/flavours environment. He/she will desirably have worked in a co-operative setting, but in any event, will have an understanding of the uniqueness of membership organisations and be sensitive to the diversity and needs of shareholders. Exceptional
communicators, candidates will demonstrate strong commercial and strategic abilities and will be clearly well versed in the challenges of the Group’s business sector.
