Personal Professor of Ageing and Public Policy
Applications are invited for a full-time position as Personal Professor of Ageing and Public Policy at NUI Galway. The post is based within the J.E. Cairnes School of Business and Economics. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, PhD supervision and capacity building within the School. On appointment, the successful candidate will take up the Directorship of the Irish Centre for Social Gerontology (ICSG) located in the Institute for Lifecourse & Society (ILAS). The successful candidate will be expected to initiate and lead new and innovative research programmes in ageing and public policy that will serve to enhance NUI Galway’s position at the frontier of ageing research internationally.
Applications are welcome from candidates from all relevant disciplines connected with ageing and public policy, including economics, social gerontology, public policy, health policy and social policy. In addition to pursuing work in their area of expertise, the successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in the Health Economics and Policy Analysis Centre (HEPAC) and the Centre for Economic and Social Research on Dementia (CESRD), both of which are located in ILAS.
