Head of Policy, Research & Public Affairs
The National Disability Authority (NDA), as the independent statutory body provides information and evidence informed advice to the Government on policy and practice relevant to the lives of persons with disabilities. We have a role to assist the Minister for Justice and Equality in the co-ordination of disability policy.
We work through our Centre for Excellence in Universal Design to promote the universal design of the built environment, products, services and information and communication technologies so that they can be easily accessed and used by everyone, including persons with disabilities.
The Head of Policy, Research & Public Affairs will be part of the Senior Management Team. Reporting to the Director the appointed candidate will be responsible for leading a team of researchers and policy advisors in fulfilling the Authority’s strategic objectives and statutory functions in relation to research and statistics, information and advice on disability policy and practice. The Head of Policy, Research and Public Affairs will manage a cross-functional team and oversee a busy work programme of multiple projects.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working at a senior management level with a proven track record in leading and developing high performing teams. They will have the ability to lead on stakeholder engagement, research and policy development.
The successful candidate will also possess excellent judgement and decision making skills coupled with the drive to deliver results in their area of work.
