Maynooth University is looking for an outstanding individual to lead its Development and Alumni Relations team, enhancing its relationships with alumni and other supporters. Working closely with the University President, Professor Philip Nolan, and the institution’s academic and professional leadership, this is an exciting new opportunity to build on Maynooth’s strong existing alumni engagement and affinity, harness goodwill and support, and take philanthropic and stakeholder relationships to the next level. We seek an enthusiastic leader with the professionalism, management ability, interpersonal skills and ambition to grow our Development and Alumni function in support of our academic mission and University Strategic Plan 2018-22.

Maynooth University is one of the four constituent universities of the National University of Ireland and in 2019 was placed in the “Top 50 Universities under 50 Years Old” in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings. Formally established as an autonomous university in 1997, but tracing its origins to the foundation of the Royal College of St. Patrick in 1795, Maynooth University draws on a heritage of over 200 years’ commitment to education and scholarship. It is located in the University town of Maynooth, 25km from the centre of Dublin, Ireland’s capital city.

The University is a modern institution - dynamic, research-led, engaged, and grounded in the traditions of liberal education. With approximately 13,000 students, Maynooth is Ireland’s fastest-growing university, yet retains a collegial campus culture that is central to its ability to bring significant interdisciplinary expertise to bear in tackling some of the most fundamental challenges facing society today.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of building effective, long-term, philanthropic and supporter relationships. This person will bring with them extensive fundraising experience and a passion for generating support for access to higher education, capital projects and communicating the impact of academic research on everyday lives.
