Applications are invited for an appointment as Head of Compliance, Office of Chief Operating Officer, Full Time, Fixed Term at NUI Galway.
The post of Head of Compliance: Office of the Chief Operating Officer is being established to focus on the areas of Procurement & Contracts and Health & Safety initially. The post-holder will develop and bring into operation the multi-faceted compliance frameworks and programmes necessary to ensure compliance with procurement & contract regulations and also health & safety legislation. The post-holder will be responsible to ensure that the agreed findings of the 2017 and 2019 procurement audits are acted on and also that university units are compliant with health & safety legislation. The post holder will also have responsibility to review policies, systems and processes employed at the University to ensure compliance with health & safety legislation. The post holder will interact with the various internal and external stakeholders in regard to compliance in these important areas. S/he will identify, analyse, address and report to senior management on procurement and safety risks on an ongoing basis. The post-holder will also consider compliance in other areas reporting to the Chief Operating Officer to ensure a consistency in policy, implementation and reporting.
