Established Professor of Cancer Biology
Applications are invited for the post of Established Professor of Cancer Biology in the School of Natural Sciences at NUI Galway.
The School of Natural Sciences is part of The College of Science and Engineering and has an international reputation for both teaching and research. The School numbers 65 Academic staff, all of whom contribute to teaching and research activities. Within the School there are several disciplines, including Biochemistry, within which this position will sit. Applicants for the Chair must have expertise in the area of cancer biology. It will be an advantage if a candidate’s interests are a fit to the strategic goals of the University that will facilitate the development of interactions with some of the University’s Research Institutes. The affiliated hospital group, Saolta, has established a Managed Academic Clinical Network for Cancer and it is expected that the successful candidate will interact closely with this entity. This will allow collaboration with the clinical cancer sites which service a population of 900,000 people.
