Founded in 1948, Enable Ireland, is a not-for-profit organisation that provides quality services to over 7,000 children and adults with disabilities and their families on behalf of the Health Service Executive. In 2017, a total of 7,138 children and adults received services through 1,422 employees working in 43 service locations and 21 retail locations across the country.

The mission of Enable Ireland is to work in partnership to enable those who use its services to achieve maximum independence, choice and inclusion in their communities.

 

Reporting to the National Director of Services, and a member of the National Management Team, the Director of Services for the Northeast/Kildare Dublin Southwest will provide leadership and management support in the development and delivery of a range of services for the region underpinned by the core values and the goals of Enable Ireland.

The Director of Services will lead a team of up to 10 Service Managers, providing services to approximately 2,500 service users across 9 locations. There are over 150 employees in the region which has an annual budget allocation of approximately €8 million. Key relationships include: service users and their families, the National Director of Services, Health Service Executive, other voluntary organizations, Senior Management and Staff representing the interests of service users and their families.

It is expected that applicants will have significant experience at management level or above with responsibility for service provision, staff and operational budgets of comparable complexity. To be considered for this tremendous role, applicants must have a practical knowledge of delivery of disability services, HSE Service arrangements, HIQA regulations together with an understanding of Irish public sector funding in the voluntary disability sector. Core competencies required include; leadership, strategic vision, financial and commercial acumen, sound judgement, organisation, communication, relationship building and results orientation. A commitment to the mission, vision and values of Enable Ireland is essential.
