Development Director

Belfast Harbour, reporting to Joe O’Neill, the Chief Executive

This is a unique career opportunity for a high-calibre individual with an impressive and extensive property development and/or business development career to join Belfast Harbour.

Belfast Harbour is seeking to appoint a highly experienced Development Director to help spearhead its ambitious and flourishing property business. This is a rare and unique opportunity for a high-calibre individual to fill, what will arguably become, one of the most senior and prominent roles in commercial property development and regeneration in Northern Ireland.

As the region’s most active developer, Belfast Harbour has facilitated 10 million square feet of development within the Harbour Estate over the last 10 years, and this is set to continue in the coming years as it delivers on an ambitious, exciting and diverse range of property initiatives and goals. The new Development Director will share Belfast Harbour’s passion and vision for the Harbour Estate, for Belfast and for the wider region and will play a pivotal role in realising its ambitions and driving the organisation’s thriving property business.

The successful candidate will possess an unrivalled degree of knowledge and experience, underpinned by an impressive portfolio of success and achievement throughout his/her career to date.

We expressly wish to hear from individuals who have extensive experience of successfully seeking out and developing large-scale capital development programmes, with particular expertise in the preparation of business cases and feasibility studies, ideally across the commercial, industrial, residential, leisure and tourism sectors.

The successful candidate will possess a proven ability to think strategically and to spot commercially rewarding opportunities, as well as extensive leadership experience and influencing skills to develop, maintain and strengthen new and existing partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
