Senior Valuation Surveyor
The principal duty of the appointed person will be to assist the Head of Land and Property Services in managing the acquisition of land and property being acquired by TII directly and by local authorities on projects funded by TII, with particular emphasis on achieving value for money and consistency of approach in schemes throughout the country.
The post requires specialised knowledge of compulsory purchase law and practice together with a professional qualification in the valuation of land and property in order to effectively manage property related negotiations either directly or with the local authorities and private stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the key competencies for a Grade 1 position as identified in the Competency Directory on the HR section of the intranet, as well as the following job-specific requirements:
- A recognised third level qualification (HETAC Level 8 or equivalent) in a relevant area such as Bachelor of Science (Surv) in Property Economics; Estate/Land Management; Agri-business, or equivalent
- Full membership of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (general practice division) with the designation MSCSI and / or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with the designation MRICS and /or the Chartered Auctioneers and Estate Agents’ Institute / Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers with the designation MIPAV (CV)
- A minimum of 7 years post graduate experience, where 3 years is post professional qualification experience
- Extensive senior level experience of, property markets; the CPO process, together with a general understanding of the obligations on public sector organisations in acquiring land and property through that process; specialised property valuations and appraisals
