The National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities (NAS) provides an independent, confidential and free, representative advocacy service that works exclusively for the person using the service and adheres to the highest professional standards.

Following a competitive tendering process, the contract to operate a new Patient Advocacy Service has been awarded to the National Advocacy Service. It is anticipated that the service will become operational in the second half of 2019. In addition to the National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities, the new Patient Advocacy Service will provide a free and independent service to support users of public acute hospitals making or intending to make a formal complaint through the Health Service Executive (HSE) investigation process in "Your Service Your Say", and for patient safety incidents.
