We’re seeking an experienced professional to join the nearForm team as Marketing Manager. We’re looking for a manager who has prior experience working in the enterprise software and services market with a strong understanding of technology, specifically bespoke software solution services. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.  While this is a hands-on role, the Marketing Manager will also build out the nearForm marketing team to develop a creative, integrated, multi-channel marketing department that increases nearForm’s brand awareness and reputation, provides a steady flow of enterprise-level sales leads and delivers return on marketing spend.

The Marketing Manager will hold ultimate responsibility for nearForm’s marketing activities and will oversee the development and delivery of a comprehensive and coherent marketing strategy for the business. The Marketing Manager will work closely with the company’s CEO and senior leadership team to play a pivotal role in growing nearForm’s reputation as a world-class software development partner and active open source sponsor.

This is a remote model position based in Ireland.  A moderate amount of travel will be required for customer visits, conferences and trade shows.  

Experience

  • 8+ years of software industry experience.
  • Deep experience as a technical product/service marketer, defining a product's messaging, positioning, value proposition and brand.
  • A technical background is highly desirable.
  • Experience hiring and training teams of individual contributors.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, demonstrated ability to manage both local and remote staff, building solid team collaboration.
  • A history of sourcing and managing efficient, high quality suppliers/vendors.
  • Experience in the open source environment is an advantage.
  • Understanding of traditional and emerging marketing strategies and proven ability to select and apply the most appropriate tactics to achieve objectives.
  • Proven understanding of what it takes to motivate technical audiences and the ability to translate that understanding into action.
  • Ability to create high-quality, compelling technical marketing content.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the marketing department is to generate high quality enterprise-level leads for the sales team.  The Marketing Manager will be responsible for:

  • Developing a comprehensive and aligned strategic marketing plan.
  • Maintaining and increasing nearForm’s reputation as a thought leader for solutions services and open source development and support.
  • Planning and organisation of nearForm customer and user conferences, including NodeConfEU.
  • Identifying and articulating differentiated and compelling value propositions based on customer proof points.
  • Coordinating resources across nearForm to create and deliver sales collateral including web content, webinars, presentations, white papers, case studies and customer references.
  • Maintaining relations with customers by organizing and developing specific customer- relations programs; determining company presence at and involvement in conferences, trade associations and seminars.
  • Building relationships with partners and identifying co-marketing opportunities.
  • Communication and content marketing programs including release announcements, blog posts, social media, guest articles etc.
  • Website design and development, web analytics, reporting, funnel optimization including split testing.
  • Team development including definition of new marketing roles, recruiting, interviewing, managing, and training.
  • Managing the marketing budget, measuring and reporting on marketing campaign results, assessing and communicating return on investment.
  • Maintaining market and competitor knowledge.
