The Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) is an independent
organisation that plays an essential role in improving Ireland’s health and social care and support services. Among its functions, HIQA promotes quality and safety, assesses health technologies and advises on the use of health information.
HIQA is seeking to fill the following vacancy.
Healthcare Inspector (medical exposure to ionising radiation)
Cork or Dublin
The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary regulatory team. The regulatory process encompasses a number of activities including design, monitoring, assessment of compliance and enforcement. As a member of the team, the successful candidate will:
Develop and design monitoring and assurance programmes to assess compliance of healthcare services with legislation and national standards;
Undertake monitoring activities to assess compliance of healthcare services with legislation and national standards;
Report on the findings of inspection and monitoring activities;
Respond appropriately where a healthcare service does not meet regulatory requirements;
Make recommendations when healthcare services do not meet the required standards and regulations.
