The person appointed will be expected to demonstrate leadership in Marketing at Maynooth University School of Business, through high quality research, teaching, service capabilities and on-going activity, including collegiate behaviour and academic mentorship of Marketing colleagues and the wider academic community in our school.
Successful candidates will teach on our undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Marketing teaching occurs across a range of existing modules in range marketing areas including consumer behaviour, marketing communications, brand management, digital marketing and international marketing, in addition to core marketing modules. The successful appointee will also be involved with a team developing new MSc programs in Marketing and supporting the teaching thereof. Faculty teaching assignments may vary depending on the needs of the School of Business.
The person appointed will have an excellent record of teaching, research and publication. He/she will have an established track record of high-quality publications that will contribute to, and enhance, the School’s areas of research strength. He/she will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching, research and profile of the School of Business and to play a leadership role in the development of teaching and learning, and research strategies.
The successful applicant will have a proven record of teaching, research and publication, appropriate to career stage of a Senior Lecturer. He/she will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the School and undertake teaching duties on the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as the supervision of Master’s and PhD students. The appointee(s) will be expected to build a strong research profile that supports the University’s research strategy including affiliating to the Research Institutes, where appropriate and working with colleagues on national and international research. The appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance and generate publications of international standard.
All duties of the role will take into consideration the planned needs of the Research Institutes aligned to the School of Business. The School of Business faculty are members of the Maynooth University Social Sciences Institute, which is a research partnership of faculty from the 12 departments and Schools of the Faculty of Social Science (https://www.maynoothuniversity.ie/social-sciences-institute).
The School of Business has a relationship with the Innovation Value Institute, which is a partnership of academics and over a hundred partner companies, including leading MNCs, focused on maximizing the impact of IT, the Edward M. Kennedy Institute, focused on conflict intervention and resolution and the All Ireland LERO research center (http://www.lero.ie).
