Head of Marketing
The Gaelic Players Association is the officially recognised representative body for inter-county hurlers and footballers. Founded by players in 1999, the GPA supports over 2,100 current county players and a growing number of former players through the Player Development Programme. The Association has entered a new phase of development and needs an exceptional marketing and communications professional with the creativity and passion to help drive growth and strengthen the brand identity.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Marketing will have overall responsibility for developing a marketing and communications strategy for the GPA. A key feature of this role will involve building relationships with representatives in the GAA, key stakeholders, players and the wider public. This position incorporates full responsibility for the delivery of all aspects of GPA marketing and communications to safeguard and strengthen the identity of the Association.
Key responsibilities will include;
Shaping and executing the marketing and communications strategy
Developing and promoting the GPA brand
Promoting a positive public and player understanding of the GPA’s work
Developing content for use across all publications and media platforms
Enhancing the effectiveness of digital and social media platforms
Managing media relations and events
You have significant marketing, communications and PR experience
Possess a deep understanding of and empathy for the experiences of inter-county players on and off the field
Excellent experience of managing diverse stakeholder groups
A successful track record developing and implementing strategic plans
A thorough understanding of social media platforms and the delivery of successful campaigns
