The Rehab Group – Director of Strategic Planning & Development

Rehab is a group of charities that champions the value of diversity and inclusion for people with a disability or disadvantage in their communities. The Rehab Group provides a range of health and social care, training, education and employment support services that are currently delivered to circa 30,000 people in over 200 locations in Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales, Poland and Saudi Arabia.

Under the leadership of the Board, the Rehab Group undertook a significant strategic review and comprehensive consultation process with the people they support, their families, their employees and their funders in Ireland and the UK. The result was a five-year strategic plan, and a new vision, mission & values and a set of strategic goals that reflected the views of stakeholders and gave clear direction for Rehab’s future as a sustainable, transparent organisation that strives for excellence.

MERC Partners has been retained to assist in the recruitment of a Director of Strategic Planning & Development.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Strategic Planning and Development will promote the integration of services across the Group. He/she will develop and implement a business development strategy in partnership with other internal functions, which will identify new business opportunities and negotiate service delivery contracts. The appointee will be expected to pinpoint critical mechanisms of change and innovation that will enable more effective and more efficient service models within the Group.

The person appointed must demonstrate leadership experience in delivering change, reform and innovation and will possess a strong track record of success working at a senior level in a strategic capacity in or for a comparably large, complex organisation. They will have strong relationship building and influencing skills and will demonstrate evidence of thought leadership and change management in some of the following areas – health, social care, education/training and employment/employability.

The appointee will have excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills coupled with an effective people management style and will empathise with the vision, mission and ethos of The Rehab Group.
